In the summer of 2024, I had the honor of being invited by MURAL Festival and SDC Côte-des-Neiges to create a mural embodying the spirit of this remarkable Montreal neighborhood. Côte-des-Neiges is the city’s most populous and diverse area, a vibrant home to countless nationalities, cultures, and traditions. The mural is designed to capture this dynamic community—a landscape of people from all over the world who come together, continuously reshaping and enriching the neighborhood.
The mural tells the story of my introduction to Côte-des-Neiges. When I first arrived in Montreal, the first person I met at university insisted that I experience the sunset atop Mont Royal. After class, she took me there, and as the city unfolded before me in the magical evening light, I felt an immediate connection to this place and the journey I was about to begin.
This artwork represents the passing down of traditions we all share and celebrates the friendships and connections that give Côte-des-Neiges its unique warmth. It invites viewers to see themselves as part of this community and to pass along their own stories and experiences.
At three stories tall and around 25 meters long, this mural is my largest project to date,
and I’m thrilled to have been able to bring this vision to life.
A big thank you for exploring this project with me!
